Ear appt and lunch

Baby Kate had her follow up hearing appt and the audiologist said everything is at 100%! I was anticipating a good report, because I have noticed such a big difference since her tubes were put in...but it's always great to hear good news!

The girls always have fun in the waiting areas.

We surprised Brandon a little later in the day for lunch. Everyone was excited. :)

Amelia was so sad to leave him. She said "I just want to go to work with daddyyyyy!"

It's hard now that she understands, but it's also heartwarming to see how much she loves him. We just look forward to the weekend!

Leopard costume

For the past three nights, Amelia has dug her leopard costume out of the closet and put it on before falling asleep. So, every morning when I wake her up, we have the same conversation:

Me: "I like your costume!"
Amelia: "it's my leopard costume!! Can I wear it? I don't wanna wear clothes."
Me: "I think it's too hot for pajamas and a fleece costume today."

So, this morning when it was 68 degrees, Amelia ran upstairs and said "IT'S NOT TOO HOT MAMA!!!!!" So, today, all day, was spent like this.

A day full of errands

Today we ran a lot of errands. A lot.

This morning I had my blood drawn and stopped at the farm stand. I found these bad boys for $10. My love affair with Oregon continues.

After naps, we returned items to Costco and to friends that we have borrowed things from/needed to drop off. We had 5 total stops, and by the end the girls were so done with their car seats!

Speaking of car seats, cleaning those is next on my to do list. I'm on a cleaning & organizing kick. Yesterday my closet looked like this.

Now it looks like this!

I'm pretty excited about it. :)

Sick baby Kate

Kate's had a fever, so we took her to the dr today. They say it's either a reaction from her MMR vaccine on Monday or hand, foot and mouth. My guess is HFM. I guess time will tell.

Park and Art

We had fun at the park yesterday.

And we got messy at the art place today.

Look at Kate's fingernails!

Lake Oswego Saturday Market

We love going to the farmers market on Saturdays. There's fresh fruit, a splash pad, birds to chase and beautiful scenery. And it's close to our house!

Brandon danced with both girls to the live music.

The girls shared some gelato.

Amelia chased birds.

We remembered to take a photo of ourselves.

Baby Kate loved playing in the water.

So did Amelia.

Typical

This is pretty standard around here. Baby Kate doesn't feel so much like a baby anymore. She's over 20 lbs!

I found this glove at a garage sale for $1 today and Amelia was SO excited. It's in her bed next to her stuffed animals tonight.

Our trip to the hospital

Baby Kate got tubes in her ears yesterday, and it went amazingly well. The doctors and nurses there were awesome, and Kate came out if recover very fast. Doernbecher Children's Hospital was great!

Checkin time was 6am!

She wasn't a fan of the oxygen monitor on her finger.

Or the hospital gown.

But she did great. I know that she's hearing better already because she repeats my words back to me so much clearer than before! Yesterday she said "ouch," today it was "eye."

Soccer, errands and heat

Today was the first day of soccer camp for Amelia. It's full day camp, so she came home exhausted (and really dirty!).

I took Kate to Gymboree while Amelia was playing and she had a great time. It's always good to see what Kate's like when Amelia is not around. I love having one on one time with her.

We stopped at Whole Foods on the way back, and I lamented over the loss of Kate's baby legs. Clearly, she thought I was ridiculous.

We picked Amelia up and went straight to an indoor play time. I knew she'd be crazy cranky without a nap, and my plan was to stay out of the confines of our house. All tantrums are 100000 times worse at home. My plan worked!

Fun and exhausting. It's the perfect combo.

If I had a quarter for very time Amelia told me that she wanted to "grow into a baby," I'd be rich. I keep trying to tell her that we only grow bigger, but she's not interested. Being a baby sounds so much better.

She's a smart girl.

Fun weekend

I'm bummed that I didn't take enough pictures this weekend, but we were just having too much fun!

On Saturday we went to the Lake Oswego Farmers Market. Before we left, I snapped this blurry beauty.

Holy cow, the market has added so many vendors! It's no longer a sleepy little market. This place is hoppin! It was so, so hot...I couldn't even imagine stopping in the stagnant air for a photo. Dramatic, I know.

We stopped to get ice cream and cool down after we shopped (ie chased birds until they had heart attacks). They hated it.

Saturday night we went to the outdoor pool at our gym and had a great time. That is HANDS DOWN, Brandon's most favorite activity.

This morning we went back to the pool to meet our sweet friends and their new baby. It was so, so fun. And hot! Thankfully, we had an umbrella, sunscreen and refreshments. It was such a fun afternoon.

After naps we went to Millenium Park and heard a blues band that was really good. We ran into some good friends of ours and had tons of fun! Too bad I didn't take any pictures. :)

We stopped at Laughing Planet on the way home. We're so excited to have one of these in our town! It's a healthy, quick, loud little restaurant. Perfect for us! They even have play dinosaurs on the tables for kids to play with. Can you say perfect?!

It didn't take long for Amelia to turn into a Dino-hoarder. No one seemed to mind. :)

Like I said - perfect place for us!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a fun family day today. We didn't go to any celebrations, which was perfect for us this year. Messing with the girls' schedules just isn't worth it at this point....we always think it's a good idea until we realize how awful it makes everything. I'm glad we've learned our lesson for now! Instead of celebrations we did a little shopping, lots of snacking, grilling and lighting sparklers on the deck.

Here's Kate. She can't help but be patriotic with her red hair, blue eyes and porcelain skin. Today she was just a little more festive. :)

Look at how cute the back of this shirt is. Honestly.

I gave the girls a bag of popcorn to eat on the deck, and somehow it ended up like this....So the girls just sat/laid next to each other, ate the popcorn off the floor and said "it's a popcorn party!"

After snacks and naps we went shopping for a swimsuit, and came home with a dress, a few shirts, kombucha and fireworks. No dice on the swimsuit.

When we stopped at the fireworks stand, I sent Brandon in to get 1 pack of sparklers. He came back with all of this.

Tanks:

Snakes:

Killer bees?

We lit a few tonight with Amelia, and she was so into it.

So exciting. It's the little things, right?
