It's hot in Portland!

Man, we've had a crazy month. Brandon didn't have a day off for almost a month, which meant I didn't either. Whew! I'm glad that we're on the other side of June and I'm looking forward to a long weekend!

Even with the numerous work trips and long hours, we managed to squeeze in some fun. It wouldn't be summer without softball, and Amelia has already caught on. She loves watching her daddy play, and looks forward to running the bases after the game.

I was hoping to avoid bath time because the games run late....but no such luck :)

Amelia said they were digging to find the dessert. I'm pretty sure she made her version of a snow angel as well...

It's been really hot here, and with no AC we are feeling the heat. Yesterday it was 89 degrees in our house!

With summer comes berries and lots of good food, which we've been trying to take advantage of. I haven't taken enough pictures, but here's the second flat of berries this month. Some were frozen, some got canned into jam, and lots of others were eaten. I'm glad that my girls share my love for berries!

Tonight is another softball game for Brandon, which means mexican food, cheering, and dusty dirty kids. It'll be a good time!

A quick note about Brandon - he is doing very well at his new job and I couldn't be more proud. He loves what he does, and he's doing it well! I wouldn't want to go against him in the courtroom. :) He tried a case yesterday, and wouldn't you know the jury found the defendant guilty. Nice work, Brandon! (For those of you who don't know - he is currently working at the District Attorney's office as a Certified Law Student, meaning he is able to take misdemeanor cases from start to finish, on his own!) It's been an awesome experience for him, and we are so grateful. His game tonight is with his co-workers and their team name is Hit & Run. Cheeky, right?
