Sadness and joy

There was a cloud of sadness hanging over our house today. It's hard to think that the sweet, sweet dog I got on my 14th birthday is now gone. I've taken comfort in knowing that she's not in pain, and am trying to focus on all of the good memories we've shared. She lived a good life!

Thankfully, our kids don't understand grief or loss yet...they speak in the language of giggles and love unconditionally. It's great to spend time with them everyday, but even more so today. It was a big day today!

Amelia's last day of preschool was today and they celebrated with lots of outdoor play and treats.

Kate even got to play today!

Here is Amelia with her preschool teacher, Madame Joelle. She was pretty concerned about her pizza here. :) This picture was taken shortly after we were given that blue book.

The blue book is a compilation of all of Amelia's work and includes photos of her classmates this past school year. Looking through it brings me so much joy!

Here's Amelia flying her helicopter, of course.

And here's a glimpse inside. These books must have taken a lot of time and effort!

When I sent her to school in March she wasn't very interested in coloring.  Now she comes home, asks for crayons and starts drawing what she sees. It's pretty cool. Drawing shapes and copying patterns are a big deal around here.

Here's her diploma. How cute is that?

It's so fun to see what she does when I'm gone. I was very hesitant to send her to preschool, but she really has learned more there than she would have at home. Brandon made a good choice!
